How to give back the Jam Spirit to your employees in covid time.

The jazz jam is when we play together and something magical happens. Jammer, has become a common musical practice. Taken up by Marley - "jamming" - this expression also refers to the shared experience of improvisation live, with no other rule than the starting tone. In France, they say "faire un boeuf" or that "la mayonnaise prend" and it is immediately less glamorous.

We at Confiture Parisienne prefer to jam, who knows why?
At work, we rarely jam and from the covid, not at all.

More than a quarter of the employees who have tried teleworking do not want to come back to the office anymore according to Le Parisien. This shatters the myth of the entrepreneurial spirit, if it has never existed elsewhere than in the heads of office managers. Because the starting condition for the jam is to abolish all hierarchy. This is impossible in the coercive world of work as we know it.

The smile policy of companies like Google with its baby foots and free friday is an attempt to jam spirit that some employees -especially in France- may find more stressful than an internship at Cogedip.

No hope?

Yes, maybe one: remind employees that a business is nothing without them, even if they work at home - especiallyif they work at home.
And to create jam spirit, why not offer them a jar of autographed jam with their name on it? Well, not with the company's name, nobody wants to start the day with the name of their company on the breakfast table.

If they don't grasp the allegory, at least they'll enjoy it. A pleasant way for everyone to remember that they are part of a community, the working community, which is not necessarily the one to which they dreamed of belonging, but for which it is not forbidden to feel a bit of jam spirit at times.
