To kick off autumn, we're bringing you a new, comforting recipe for fluffy scones topped with fig jam for the perfect afternoon tea!

List of ingredients:
420 g T55 flour
13 g baking powder
A pinch of salt
80g caster sugar
110g unsalted butter
1 egg
170g whole milk

The steps of the recipe:
  1. Place the butter cut into pieces in your freezer for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix the flour, salt, yeast and sugar in a bowl.
  3. Incorporate the butter with your fingers
  4. Add a beaten egg
  5. Pour the whole milk into the mixture
  6. Mix gently
  7. Roll out the dough on a work surface
  8. Cut out circles using a circle-shaped mold (or use a glass)
  9. Brush with brown
  10. Bake for about 20 minutes at 180°C
  11. Spread with black fig jam
