The citrus jams we offer are handcrafted in our Parisian workshop. Our citrus fruits are bursting with the southern sun and carefully selected from small producers. Discover our recipes for oranges, grapefruits, and clementines.
Nestled beneath an arch of the Viaduc des Arts, in the heart of Paris, Confiture Parisienne concocts delicious recipes with a focus on bringing tradition up to date. In our jam shop, we are committed to creating new flavors while always following the traditional methods that make jam a must-have delicacy.
For all our recipes, we give pride of place to good fruit and showcase the work of passionate producers. To make our citrus jams, we headed south and chose fruits bursting with sunshine!
Citrus jam: a sunny delight
A hint of acidity, a little bitterness and above all a zest of sweetness and indulgence: this is how we could describe the flavor of the fruits that make up the citrus family.
When we think of citrus fruits, we inevitably think of the sun that made them ripen! While today we are used to eating citrus fruits everywhere in France, these fruits have much more distant origins! The citrus fruits we know are in fact almost all native to China and India where they were cultivated nearly 3,000 years ago! Through the various discoveries of explorers, citrus fruits gradually arrived in Europe where we then discovered the flavors of the clementine, grapefruit, pomelo, citron and mandarin. Royal tables then enjoyed tasting various citrus jams: a luxury dish after all since sugar was still a rare commodity!
Citrus fruits were born on continents where a warm and humid climate reigns, with temperatures between 20 and 25°. Citrus jam is undoubtedly the ultimate jam for sun and heat!
Carefully selected fruits and traditional methods for the most succulent citrus jam
Since the 19th century, Paris has been a city of jams! The capital was famous for its many jam stalls, all made with fruit from the surrounding orchards. With Confiture Parisienne, we wanted to bring this tradition back to life by developing new flavors and showcasing the finest quality fruit. To make our citrus jams, we meet small, passionate producers who are committed to producing fruit bursting with sunshine and flavor! Once the fruit is ready, we cook it in small quantities in copper cauldrons, using traditional methods.
By following these ancestral processes, we create tasty and authentic jams. Our collection of citrus jams brings together essential flavors and unique combinations, like the Grapefruit Clementine Kumquat Jam or our creations combining orange and orange blossom, but also orange and absinthe. In sweet or savory combinations, citrus jam can be enjoyed at any time of the day, on a slice of country bread, with white yogurt or even with goat cheese and of course to accompany and enhance a roast duck!
